Special Talents

It is always fun for me to see a great movie or read a really good book.  But then I get the feeling that I am missing out on something.  Some people have a special talent.  My daughter has her Irish dancing.  My son has his guitar.  They both are really intelligent kids and I am extremely proud of both of them.  I always talk of writing a novel but never get the ambition to start it up. I try to blog but I really don't have that much to say.  I really enjoy reading the works of Hiruki Murakami.  His writing, even in translation, seems to come from deep inside.  I wish that I had that somewhere within me.  I read many different baseball blogs and see a lot of clever and insightful posts. Maybe one day I will reach that level.  I don't really see it happening soon.  For now I will plug away, doing the best that I can.
We are getting closer to the start of Spring Training.  It will be starting earlier because of the upcoming World Baseball Classic.  That is always a good thing.  It means a shorter winter.  Not that we have had much of a winter so far.
I have been off of work for a month now.  It is a little weird having nothing to do during the day.  Hopefully I don't get too used to it.  I did qualify for unemployment.  I fell a little guilty taking money for not working.  Last time I was out of work, I took a part time job that actually paid less than what I am making thru unemployment.  Seems strange to me, but I'll take it for now.
